I also have limited availability for sliding scale surgery evaluations and letter writing. Here is a graphic that i have found helpful for people to look at to gauge their own sliding scale capacity:
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from therapy with you?
You can expect me to be active, compassionate, honest, warm, open, and perpetually curious. Depending on your own sense of humor and our individual rapport, you may also expect me to be a little funny, quirky, and/or sarcastic. I have ADHD as many of my clients do, so some days I find focusing harder than other, so you may see me coloring to help me stay engaged to be the most helpful therapist I can be. Also, you may even find me annoying at times (I’m still a human, afterall), and I always encourage clients to let me know if/when that happens, too!
What are appropriate topics for therapy?
Anything! Of course, you have your basics – mood, sleep, work, relationships, family, etc. I also always like to let clients know that any and nearly anything are on the table as therapy topics. This can include, sex, politics, faith/spirituality, finances, and even our own therapeutic relationship!
How do I find out my insurance benefits?
You can log in to your insurance company’s member portal and find “mental health outpatient” benefits to find your therapy cost information. Before consultations, I will ask for your insurance information so I can verify your benefits on your behalf – as long as I am in network with your insurance company!
What is the average wait time?
Since I provide long term services, it is impossible to accurately predict the wait times for my waitlist. I typically have 3-4 new openings per year. This is ever-changing and highly subject to change!
